More Money $aving Strategies
I was inspired to blog this particular topic upon taking a stroll through my February issue of All You magazine. They offered some awesome coupons! Also, once you're done clipping from the magazine, be sure to head on over to allyou.com and check out the coupons there. You will be able to print more coupons right at home!
Okay, so most of you probably already know about All You - but just in case you don't - here's a tidbit. The next time you're in Walmart, pick up the latest edition of All You and thumb through it. I used to buy the mag in the store, but once I saw how much I was saving, I decided to subscribe. I promise you, this mag pays for itself!
Another great mag to try? First for Women. Until recently, they didn't put coupons in this one. I guess they saw the success of All You and decided to give it a try.
Once in a while, Woman's World will have coupons in it, as do Good Housekeeping and sometimes Ladies Home Journal. A tweet to the wise: I'd just buy these mags in-store after checking to see what coupons are in there. There are usually not enough coupons to warrant purchasing a subscription.
Other tidbits:
Don't forget to check your Sunday paper. The inserts there are sometimes pretty good. If you know it will be especially great one week, I suggest getting more than one paper.
Another way to save? Have a coupon swap! I swap coupons with a friend all the time! She has several people who save their coupon inserts for her and once she's done clipping, she passes them on to me. I clip what I need and pass the savings along.
Coupon Gathering Ideas:
Ask your local community or senior center if you can place two coupon boxes near the front door. Once you have their permission, just take two shoeboxes - one with the lid {and a slit cut in the top of the lid} and one without. For the box with the lid - wrap both bottom and lid in craft or wrapping paper and affix the lid to the box. Either write on the box lid or make a sign with instructions to drop coupons in the slot. For the next box - cover with paper and then place a sign nearby with instructions to take the coupons needed. Instructions should include a request that if they take a coupon, to please put a coupon in the collection box. This way, a lot of coupons are swapped around.
Another idea is to have a Clipping Party. Invite several friends over. Each friend would need to bring the following: a potluck dish, scissors, and their stash of coupons. Once you have enjoyed the dinner, gather around the table and begin clipping coupons. Then, compare what you have - if a friend has multiples of a coupon, and you have a coupon they need, you can swap! It's a win-win situation!
Okay - that's it for this blog update. Happy clipping and I wish you blessed couponing!

Tips to Save You Time and Money
In today's economy, we are all watching our budget. What would you say if I told you that you could save much more if you not only clipped coupons, but also used price matches to save more money?
Here, I'll share what I use to save around $20 - $30 per shopping trip.
CLIP IT, GIRL!
The act of clipping coupons is more than just cutting out pieces of paper. It is an art..and as we all know, art equals mucho buckaroos.
Here are a list of coupon sites that I use regularly:
coupons.com
redplum.com
smartsource.com
XTRA TIP: Not finding the coupons you need? On any of the sites listed above, you are usually prompted for your zip code. You don't have to put in your zip to clip. In fact, if you forego putting in the zip, you can change the zip out and get coupon offers that are presented in another state or another area of your state. For instance, just changing the zip to a Mississippi zip won me a $1 coupon on Cottonelle toilet paper. You can usually print at least two of each coupon...but sometimes, you can print up to four.
PRICE MATCH, SUGAH!
I'm sure almost all of us know that Wal-Mart will price match nearly anything in the store. Just be sure you bring in a local ad and make sure the sale has not expired. Be sure to keep an eye out for sales on items for which you have coupons, as this will rack up the bucks. Unfortunately, Wal-Mart will not price match meat or milk unless it is a national brand because they cannot be sure the quality is the same as their in house brand.
XTRA TIP: Think outside Wal-Mart!! Wally World is not the only place that price matches!! If you have a Fred's in your area, they advertise that they will match a competitor's price.
SURPRISE: Guess who else is in the price matching game? LOWE'S!! Although it is not advertised, Lowes will match the price of a competitor as long as you bring in the ad. This little trick saved me a whopping $80 on a Victorian LP gas heater!!
DOUBLE THE SAVINGS!
Here's another plus for Fred's. On Saturday only, Fred's will double coupons up to 75 cents. That's awesome!! I highly recommend this for things like toiletries and cleaning products!! Kroger also doubles coupons! So, even if you have a 25 cent coupon, if you take it to Fred's or Kroger, you will save 50 cents!
CAREFUL CLIPPING!
Make sure you are only clipping coupons on items you normally buy and use or on an item you would like to try. If you are just buying items because you saw a coupon for them - but they are not something you would ever consider using - you have just wasted money and time.
PAD THE COUPON STASH!
Other than the aforementioned sites and the newspaper, where else should you go for coupons? Try calling the customer service 800#listed on the back or side of the package. If you give a product rave reviews, you will usually get coupons in the mail. Also, try the manufacturer's website as well. For example: I emailed Honeysuckle White from their site (honeysucklewhite.com) and requested coupons after giving a glowing report of their ground turkey breast. A couple weeks later, I received about six $1 OFF coupons in the mail!

What's So Great About Coupons?
What's so great about coupons? I've heard the question countless times - and my answer is the same. If you are on a tight budget and need to make your money stretch, clip coupons. Everyone can benefit from clipping!
Now that I've peaked your interest, I know you're wondering just how much can be saved by clipping coupons. That depends on factors like how much time you're willing to invest in clipping, how savvy you are with your couponing methods, and how good you are at acquiring the coupons you need.
Coupons are everywhere - you just have to know where to look! Ah, but that's another post ;-)
